Small Business Administration and Warrior Rising Form Strategic Partnership to Assist Veterans
SALT LAKE CITY – The SBA Utah District Office and Warrior Rising will sign a Strategic Alliance Memorandum Dec. 3, 2019 to better integrate their resources. The partnership will focus on maximizing the effectiveness of programs aimed at servicemembers, military veterans, and their families, to empower them in the development, formation, and growth of small businesses.
"Partnering with Warrior Rising will mean the veteran and military communities will have access to the mentors, training, tools, and networking that will help them achieve their long-term entrepreneurial goals," said Utah District Director Marla Trollan.
The SAM will be formally signed Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at Alpha Coffee located at 7260 Racquet Club Dr, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. The event is open to the public and media are invited to attend.
SBA and Warrior Rising recognize the need for resources to be well-coordinated between groups, in order to produce a smoother transition from cocktail napkin sketch, to business ownership and growth,” Trollan said.
The direct connection between SBA’s Boots to Business, REBOOT, and Emerging Leaders Mini-MBA Program, and Warrior Rising’s Warrior Academy™ will allow members of the military and veteran community to take advantage of a complete suite of services that walks an entrepreneur through the complete business life cycle – from formation and launch to exit strategy.
Approximately 5% of U.S. adults can claim veteran status, yet, there are over 2.5 million businesses in the U.S. that are majority-owned by veterans. Veteran-owned businesses account for nearly 1 out of every 10 American businesses, and generate $1.14 trillion in annual revenues. Nationally, 5 million employees depend on paychecks from veteran owned companies. The state of Utah alone, hosts over 17,000 of the nation’s veteran-owned businesses.
