Boyd Petersen grew up in Utah and has been involved with business since he started selling greeting cards door to door when he was a Boy Scout. He has received an education in marketing. Boyd has owned several businesses over the years. Most of those businesses involved advertising his products and services. In 1998, Boyd and his wife Linda purchased the South Valley Journal, a community newspaper in the Salt Lake Valley. He jumped into working with local Chambers of Commerce to not only build his own business but also to help other businesses. He is all about helping businesses (whether they are his clients or not), connect with those that need their services. Some call it the Miracle on 34th Street marketing program. This way of doing business has served Boyd well. The Valley Journals, as they were known when he sold them, grew to 14 community newspapers (circulation at over 340k) and 18 online sites. Boyd has been involved with many chambers and state and national press associations and loves networking with other business owners. He sold The Valley Journals in 2014 and now helps people put together marketing plans using social and other digital media for their companies. Boyd has written books and screenplays for years and has several fiction stories that can be downloaded. He also has a book all about marketing that he updates each year (because the market changes every year). He seems to always be writing even when he isn’t writing his blog and newsletters for his business. He teaches webinars about social and digital media all the time and loves meeting new people that want some help with getting their marketing going. He also runs the Business Success Conference.
